Dan Liparini is a guitarist, composer and educator based in New Jersey. He is a graduate of the Jackie McClean Institute of Jazz at the Hartt School of Music, where he studied Jazz Performance and Composition, and is currently pursuing a graduate degree in Jazz Arranging at William Paterson University. Dan’s debut album Tessellations is a collection of his original music featuring Jen Allen, Matt Dwonsyzk and Eric Hallenbeck, was released in September 2020. January 2024 saw the release of Miss You, Dear Old Friend on La Reserve Records, an album of acoustic duo performances with bassist Alex Tremblay, with compositions contributed by both for the occasion. Dan also composed the score to Charlie Weber’s documentary “Small Hours,” which was selected to be shown at film festivals in New York and Rhode Island. As a bandleader and a sideman Dan has performed at music festivals and venues around the Northeast such as the Newport Jazz Festival, The Hartford Festival of Jazz, Talcott Mountain Music Festival, Baby Grand Jazz Series, Northampton Jazz Festival, Sidedoor Jazz Club, Infinity Music Hall and Daryl's House Club. Dan has been teaching private lessons, coaching ensembles and presenting masterclasses since 2013, and has been a faculty member of the Litchfield Jazz Camp since 2017.
